Christmas was a whole new adventure this year for me. I have had so many wonderful blessings this year that I am thrilled for the future. I started the year off on Valentines Day when I had my first and only son, Rider. Then.... I got to start back to work at Tanner Portraits this fall as their second main photographer and their "Go Get Em' Girl" I wear many "hats" I guess you could say. Working in the office as well as photographing... I love it! I am living the dream, raising a son and watching him grow as I grow myself and consistantly accomplishing goals. More than half of every paycheck I sunk into Rider's Christmas I think, his dad did as well. Unfortunatly Bryan wasn't able to get to join us on Christmas which kinda sucked honestly, but it wasn't his fault... freak motorcycle accident... bike got loose on gravel, same thing happened to my grandma, it could happen to anyone, it just happened at the worst time. So I tapped the entire night so he wouldn't miss out on anything... and let others get a glimpse into our First Christmas with Rider. Since my mom and aunt passed away Christmas wasn't the same, but now our family tradition is coming back, I am going to make sure of it! ps.. I think I am more excited than Rider!!! :) I can tell but just watching... I am sooo giddy! The future holds such greatness ahead! :) EEEEK! Abbey's family portrait session was fantastic. We scheduled the session at Freeman's Mill Park, a new location for me, so I arrived about an hour prior to test and scout out the location to get an idea of lighting etc... I arrived and realized the location was nothing but almost all direct sun, but within an hour we gained lots of shadows and it allowed for me to create some fantastic images! I am so in love with all of the 5, yes 5 kids! They were so good and so well mannered! They obviously have their hands full with 5 kids, but both Abbey and Chase handled it with such grace, being a mother now, I just dont know how they do it! I Salute Ya'll for sure! So... I was obviously thrilled when Sarah contacted me and asked if I would be willing to photograph her daughter's Baptism! Silly Question?? YES!! I was super excited but really nervous!! Only because I had never shot a Baptism before and then I was weary of the lighting... really worried. Thankfully the man upstairs gave me the confidence and blessed me with a wonderful outcome! The event was nothing less than a success and such a wonderful experience! Being chosen to be apart of such a sentimental heirloom was an honor and I am so excited to watch their sweet little family grow and "do life" together. It was a bittersweet sunday rainy, wet and cold deffinatly hated having to bring the session inside. I simply assisted Skot today, no shooting for me. I must say I have sincerely enjoyed working with the Tanner Family during the fall of this year. I feel that my boss, Susan, owner of Tanner, has been brought into my life by some divine power. I look up to her not only like she is my boss, she is my friend as well, and at times like a mother. I am so gratful for eveything she has done for me and opportunities she gave me to prove myself worthy, especially feels good knowing I have been working and being a full time mom for the past almost 6 mos, and I have done it, I am exhausted, stressed and hungry all the time... but who stops to eat when you either have a little boy crying, a session that has to be shot, dont forget the time editing as well! At times I found myself ready to give up because it was and is alot to handle, but I kept trooping on, and I am so glad I did. Rider gets to have a fabulous Christmas this year and thats all aMom could ask for. :) big shout out to Skot for bringing me on board with the family. I can wait til next season to do it all over again! |
